Refund & Cancellation Policy

Fair-split refunds

When a traveler cancels, UnSOLO and the host share the refund proportionallyto our earnings on the booking. Platform fees, promos, and referral credits never come out of the host's share. If a host was already paid an advance, any clawback stops at their unpaid balance — the platform absorbs the rest.

How the refund amount is calculated

Every refund percentage in the tables below applies to the amount you have actually paidtowards the booking. For trips booked with a token deposit, the refund is calculated on what you have paid so far (token, and balance if already paid) and can never exceed it.

Transaction charges: payment-gateway and transaction fees levied on the original payment are non-refundable. These charges are deducted from the amount returned to you, so the credited refund will be the tier percentage minus applicable transaction charges.

1. UnSOLO Trips (Curated Packages)

Cancellation by UnSOLO:

  • If UnSOLO cancels a trip due to insufficient participants, weather, or safety concerns, a full refund (100%) will be issued.
  • We will notify you at least 7 days before the departure date when possible.

2. Community Trips (Hosted by Users)

Before Host Approval:

  • No payment is made until the host approves your join request.
  • You can withdraw your request at any time with no charges.

After Payment (admin-reviewed cancellations):

Cancellation by Host:

  • If the host cancels the trip, all participants receive a full refund.
  • Repeated cancellations by a host may result in account suspension.

3. Stays

Homestays, cabins, hotels — refund timeline is measured against your check-in date.

4. Activities

Day tours, workshops, classes — refund timeline is measured against the activity start time.

5. Rentals

Bikes, scooters, gear, vehicles — refund timeline is measured against your pickup time (sub-day precision applies).

6. Group Bookings

  • All group members must complete payment within 24 hours of group creation.
  • If any member fails to pay within the deadline, the entire group booking is auto-cancelled with full refund for those who paid.
  • Individual cancellation from a group follows the tier schedule for the booking's category.

7. Partial Cancellations (cancelling some travellers)

If you booked for more than one traveller, you can cancel a part of your party without cancelling the whole booking.

  • You select the traveller(s) to cancel and submit a request; an UnSOLO admin or the trip host reviews and approves it.
  • The refund for the cancelled traveller(s) is calculated pro-rata (their share of the amount you paid) and then the same cancellation-timeline tier percentage above is applied.
  • As with any refund, applicable payment-gateway / transaction charges are non-refundable and are deducted from the amount returned.
  • The remaining travellers' booking stays confirmed, and your trip total is reduced to reflect the smaller party.
  • To cancel everyone, please use a full cancellation instead.

8. Refund Process

  • Refunds are processed to the original payment method (UPI, card, or netbanking).
  • UPI refunds: 1–3 business days.
  • Card refunds: 5–7 business days.
  • Netbanking refunds: 5–10 business days.
  • Where a payment was collected offline (e.g. cash or direct bank transfer recorded by our team), the corresponding refund is returned by the same offline method.
  • For trips paid in two parts (token + balance), the refund is issued across the actual payments captured.
  • You will receive a notification when the refund is initiated and when it is processed.

9. Non-Refundable Items

  • Bookings cancelled inside the "no refund" window of the schedule above.
  • No-shows (failure to show up without prior cancellation).
  • Payment-gateway / transaction charges levied on the original payment (typically ~2% of the booking) — these are deducted from every refund.
